ranging from huge concert halls to small chamber spaces – an easy way to achieve drastically different tones with one click.

This exquisite symphonic collection for KONTAKT features a
comprehensive collection of 50 traditional & extended percussive instruments recorded through three mic positions. With a
clean, focused character
that is not clinically dry OR overly ‘epic’, Rhapsody: Orchestral
Percussion is highly flexible for everything from small ensemble scoring
and intimate cues to dramatic & bombastic. No other percussion
library is as
extensive AND affordable!
Concept & Interface
Impact Soundworks’ goal with
Rhapsody: Orchestral Percussion was
nothing less than creating the most versatile and affordable percussion
library ever. With 50 instruments, 100+ articulations, and 21+
gigabytes of raw recordings, calling this collection ‘comprehensive’ is
an understatement. Each instrument has been exhaustively sampled with up
to
10x RR and
5x velocity layers, captured across three mic positions in a gorgeous orchestral hall.
Rhapsody: Orchestral Percussion goes beyond the standard suite of drums (i.e. bass drum, snare, toms, cymbals) to include a wide variety of
aux percussion (i.e. shaker, sleigh bells, castanets, chimes, metals, wood & temple blocks),
hand drums (i.e. djembe, bongos, cajon, darbuka), and
chromatic instruments (i.e. glockenspiel, xylophone, marimba, crotales, tubular bells).
Impact Soundworks’ philosophy when building instruments is to
design with composers in mind.
To that end, we’ve created a intuitive interface for the library that
provides customization and control without being overly complex.
Script Features:
- Volume, tuning, and envelope controls for each instrument
- Internal preset system for saving your settings & mixes
- Per-instrument 3-band “Solid-G” EQ
- Enable / disable instruments & mics to preserve RAM
- Multiple outputs – send instruments to different Kontakt outs
- Mic mixing – volume, pan, width, offset (via CC)
- Convolution reverb send with wet & size controls
Besides its scope and affordability, what else sets this library
apart? Most orchestral percussion libraries strive for the ideal of
“epic” through big halls and lots of reverb: a huge sound for a huge
price.
Rhapsody: Orchestral Percussion was instead
recorded & designed to function in any musical context, from small,
emotional pieces, to tense underscores, and even bombastic, loud, and –
yes – epic tracks.

An orchestral library designed for powerful ensemble string staccatos, Furia delivers
instant gratification for
film, TV, game & trailer scoring. Perfect for epic action string
stabs and ostinatos, dramatic builds, and tense underscore rhythms!
String ensemble staccatos are a composer’s best friend. Whether you
need to accentuate dramatic rhythms in an action cue, create tension
with a repeating ostinato line, build an epic swashbuckling main melody,
or weave ominous arpeggiating textures, staccato strings are
de facto standard.
Furia is a library tailor-made to deliver that very
sound, and ONLY that sound. It is simple and streamlined, with no
extraneous features or samples. As soon as you load it up and begin
playing, you’ll see the appeal of this elegant design. With no complex
UI or exhaustive patch lists, you instead have an instant,
highly-versatile staccato sound out-of-the-box.
- Ensemble Multiplier – FSS was recorded with a
22-piece string ensemble. With this control, you can multiply the size
of the ensemble up to 8x for an even more epic sound!
- Timing Controls – The Ensemble Timing knob controls
the amount of random timing variation in the ensemble multiplier, while
Sample Offset adjusts the sample playback to be more aggressive (at the
cost of some pre-bow noise).
- Mic Mixer – Here you can load or unload either of the two included mic positions, plus change or automate their volume & stereo width.
- Envelope Shaping – Dial down the decay and sustain
for a very tight and aggressive staccato sound, or turn them up with
release to let each note ring out.
Use
Furia on its own with either (or both) of two
included mic positions and a handy FX rack, or layer it with other
orchestral sounds like
Bravura Scoring Brass for even more ‘oomph’. Either way, we know you’ll find it a fantastic and very practical tool for your template!

bravura – noun / brÉ™ – vyoor – É™:
1. a musical passage requiring exceptional agility and technical skill in execution
2. a florid, brilliant style
3. a show of daring
When the Impacts Soundworks’ team ran across this rarely-used (and
somewhat difficult to pronounce!) term they knew immediately it was the
ideal title for their bold, new orchestral brass library.
“Bravura Scoring Brass – Chords & FX” is a
version of the full instrument featuring a selection of “instant
gratification” patches from Bravura Scoring Brass Complete. It is NOT
the full version of Bravura Scoring Brass, but it does contain some of
the most useful patches for composers!
Content & Features:
- Ensemble and Solo “Chord Maker” patches – Play single notes to create fully-voiced chords, with control over chord voicing, type and instrument spread
- Ensemble and Solo “Orchestrator” patches – As you
play or sequence chords, these patches will intelligently assign each
note to a different instrument, creating realistic voicings!
- Articulations – Sustain, staccato, tenuto, marcato
- All aleatoric FX patches – short figures, phrases, motifs, swells, and hits that are particularly ideal for scoring purposes.

Discover the powerful sound of Slavic (Bulgarian-style) singing as
performed by an all-female chorus: sopranos, mezzos, altos, soloist, and
full choir.
Vocalisa features many important syllables and consonants idiomatic
to this style, plus useful pitch articulations (mordents, turns) and FX
(breaths, claps, clusters.)
Interface & Engine
The interface of
Vocalisa allows for full control
over the performance and sound of each section. Articulations and
syllables can be triggered via keyswitch, or sequenced using the “Grid
Mode” pictured below.
Each syllable and ornament can be tweaked
individually – volume, offset, and brightness. For example, using offset
on the “mah” syllable can create a simple “ah” vowel, or “shteh” can be
shortened to “teh”. The brightness knob is also a highly useful tool
for shaping the timbre and tonality of the performance.
Content & Features
- Detailed recordings for a versatile sound with air
- Traditional Slavic choral singing
- Eh, mah, yah, ree, shteh, svah, and oh
- Mordents, turns, clusters, FX & breaths
- Section-building with sopranos, mezzos, altos

Other global effects are available as well!
Included are such handy tools such as a compressor, stereo width control
(for widening or collapsing to mono), release noise mixer, EQ, and
convolution reverb!
