REVIEW

The sound of Gothic Instruments has always been at the top of my sound palette. The atmosphere and rich tonal quality of the presets are so complex in their structure. Dronar Glitchscapes follows the path of its predecessors. This library was recorded and processed again by movie trailer sound designer Alessandro Camnasio. Alessandra states that he recorded several electromagnetic sources with special pick-ups including: faulty hard-drives, broken electronic devices, power chargers, electrical junction boxes, phones, electric noises from welding machines, radio interference's and anything else that produced electrical noise. Convolution, FFT processing, enhancing, distortion and many more effects were involved in the process and editing of the raw samples.
So how does Glitchscapes sound?

Scary, Tense, Chilling, Unnerving, Eerie, Suspenseful, Atmospheric, Ethereal, and Superb. Should I go on?


Whether you’re doing horror, sci-fi, or anything that needs a tense underscore, Glitchscapes will truly fill the void. One other factor I need to note is that this is the first Gothic Instruments library that uses snapshots in Kontakt 5. The loading of the presets is much faster than previous libraries. I can only hope they are planning an update in the future where all the libraries will have snapshots. If I only have one complaint about the previous libraries, it was the loading times and high CPU usage. Thankfully the snapshots solve the loading issue. This is another winner in the Gothic Instruments series and I can very well tell that I will be using these sounds in my next DARKMOOD project.
