Tom Wolfe's Fractal for Omnisphere- REVIEW

Patch Library for Spectrasonics Omnisphere 2

Fractal is a collection of 100 cinematic industrial patches for Spectrasonics Omnisphere 2. This collection is heavily inspired by the scores of Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross, and Nine Inch Nails' Ghosts I-IV album, but also draws from scores such as Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, A Quiet Place and Jigsaw.

For this collection, I wanted to focus on gritty, grainy and slightly obscure sounds. Using Omnisphere's incredible Granular engine, the extensive modulation matrix and the diverse distortion effects, this bank is full of lo-fi textures, serene pads, blistering leads and crunchy sequences. Fractal was created with unconventionality and uniqueness in mind, and provides the perfect solution for your industrial scores and compositions.

This collection requires Spectrasonics Omnisphere 2.4 in order to work.

REVIEW

Fractal  is Tom Wolfe's 3rd Omnisphere library release and contains 100 patches of gritty, distorted, industrial music inspired patches.
Fractal is dirty and downright relentless. Tom really designed this library to a specific niche that really shines. This Omnisphere soundset is fun and uses the granular engine in a powerful way. These patches will surely please composers looking for that lo-fi, crunchy, post-apocalyptic sound design. The textures playable and textures soundscape category of patches would sell me on this library alone.  I really liked how Tom made use of the tremolo on the mod-wheel. I made a video below auditioning every patch in this library, so you can make your own assessment. Just make sure you listen to this library with headphones or a pair of good speakers to really hear the musical expression of these patches.
I think Tom has really outdone himself with this one. Fractal is original, experimental, dark, harsh, and marvelous all at the same time.
Well Done Tom Wolfe!

Tom Wolfe's HALCYON - Omnisphere 2- Review & Walkthrough Video

https://www.tomwolfe.co.uk/halcyon-for-omnisphere

Tom Wolfe's Halcyon is an exceptional addition to anyone's Omnisphere 2 library. This Soundset was a very engaging experience into some very uniquely crafted sound design patches. This collection contains 100 patches suited for the more ambient underscore side of film music.

My favorite part of this collection was the 'Pads+Strings' and 'Textures Playable' sections. These 2 categories of patches are worth the price of admission on their own. Musicians and Composers looking to expand their Omnisphere 2 library should really give this a buy. The price and value are great and you get some really nice nostalgic synth sounds which is really hot right now.

There is plenty more to like but the sounds in these categories really shined through for me. There are no multis and no new soundsources but that shouldn't sway you from buying this.

Tom Wolfe is an award-winning film composer and a rising star of the British film industry so you can be confident in knowing this collection is worth every penny.
Can't wait for Tom Wolfe's next Omnisphere 2 Soundset.
