The Future is Here

Assistance with Control
Master Assistant uses the sonic profile of your audio to help you get to a logical starting point. Because your time is better spent adding your sonic signature, Master Assistant will suggest targets, signal chain, and processor settings, so you can get back to what’s most important—adding that personal touch.
Balance Your Master - Tonal Balance Control
The new Tonal Balance Control plug-in presents industry-first visual analysis and communicates with all instances of Neutron 2, allowing you to reach your desired master faster. Compare your work with track references and genre standards informed by analysis on years of popular masters, achieve a target sonic profile, and ensure your delivery will translate for popular distribution channels.
NEW! Spectral Shaper
Smooth and sculpt problematic and harsh frequencies with the new Spectral Shaper module. Mold your audio by applying frequency-specific dynamics, surgically or creatively, to create smooth, balanced audio. Fantastic for taming percussive transients, Spectral Shaper can tame sibilant hi-hats, harsh vocals, plucky acoustic guitars, and other overly bright mix elements. For a creative twist, use Spectral Shaper across any frequency band to experiment with timbre, resonance, and transient information without affecting other elements of the source audio.
12 Essential Mastering Tools with Component Plug-ins
Ozone 8 Advanced includes twelve essential modern and vintage modules with component plug-ins: Spectral Shaper, EQ, Dynamic EQ, Post EQ, Maximizer (with IRC IV and new IRC LL), Imager, Exciter, Dynamics, Vintage Limiter, Vintage Tape, Vintage EQ, Vintage Compressor. Ozone 8 Advanced comes with each module as a component plug-in, allowing you to use any piece of Ozone independently in your session.
Track Referencing
A/B your master against reference tracks directly within any instance of Ozone or its standalone application. Now an integrated process, track referencing is easy, intelligent, and incorporated into Ozone’s workflow. Track referencing in Ozone allows you to load up to 10 tracks and will identify sections of your reference for easy playback like Verse or Chorus, so you can spend less time finding and more time mastering.
Ozone...meet Neutron
The Tonal Balance Control plug-in not only communicates with the Ozone 8 Equalizer and Post EQ modules, but Neutron 2 EQ modules as well. This inter-plugin communication lets you fix mix issues during mastering and helps bridge the mixing and mastering gap. No more context switching or opening up multiple windows - just tonally balanced, professional sounding music.
Taming of the Shrill
Smooth and sculpt problematic and harsh frequencies with the new Spectral Shaper module. Mold your audio by applying frequency-specific dynamics, surgically or creatively, to create  smooth, balanced audio. Fantastic for taming percussive transients, Spectral Shaper can tame sibilant hi-hats, harsh vocals, plucky acoustic guitars, and other overly bright mix elements. For a creative twist, use Spectral Shaper across any frequency band to experiment with timbre, resonance, and transient information without affecting other elements of the source audio.

What's new in Version 8?

Intelligent signal processing, spectral shaping, Tonal Balance Control, Track Referencing, new look and feel, and more.
Intelligent Track Referencing
A/B your master against reference tracks directly within any instance of Ozone or its standalone application. Now an integrated process, track referencing is easy, intelligent, and incorporated into Ozone’s workflow. Load up to 10 tracks and Ozone will identify sections of references like a Verse or Chorus for easy playback, so you can spend less time searching through references and more time mastering.
IRC IV You
We know you love IRC. We do too. That’s why we’ve added a low latency mode with all the power of IRC limiting minus the lag. We’ve also improved IRC IV’s low-end fidelity to provide better feedback for a more responsive, smooth limiting algorithm.
Maximum Independence
Transient/Sustain Stereo Independence in Ozone’s Maximizer takes your master to the next level by detecting and separating transient and sustain information for a wider, deeper sonic profile. Transient Stereo Independence reduces pumping, introduces fewer artifacts, and leaves you with more of the sound you want, without narrowing your stereo image.
New Look and Feel
Great experiences are made with great design. That’s why we’ve made workflow improvements across the board. Work faster and more instinctively between mix and master with a similar workflow in Ozone 8 and Neutron 2, with beautiful visualizations, metering, and more fluid controls.

Review:

After playing with this over the weekend I must say it is an awesome upgrade from Ozone 7 if you have the standard or elements edition. If you are a hobbyist or electronic music artist Ozone 7 will probably be all you ever need. However with these extra features in Ozone 8 it will take your mastering to a whole new level while making it easier to diagnose intimate details in your track. If you've never bought an Ozone mastering plugin then this is a no-brainer for mastering- Highest Recommendation! If you have the standard edition or elements edition and are on the fence about upgrading- Get it Now! If you are just wanting to release tracks with minimal work in mastering get Ozone 8 standard or elements. If you already have Ozone 7 elements or standard then this would be a personal choice you will have to decide. Either way the upgrade price on this is worth it while it's on sale.
