REVIEW

Guitar Fury is the latest and biggest guitar library Sample Logic has released to date. It's 43 GB and contains 594 presets. All guitar performances were played by guitar virtuoso Steve Ouimette, who  collaborated with Sample Logic on the other Cinematic Guitar releases. The instruments performed by Steve were originally recorded in the Cinematic Guitars Motion recording sessions. He used a variety of  acoustic, electric, and bass guitars. However, it doesn't end there; he also used baritones, ukuleles, a Puerto Rican cuatro, Marx-O-Chime, Dobrotron, Purgatory Hill Harp, Cigar Box Guitar, and lots more.

The first thing you'll notice when you load up the Guitar Fury is the clean interface with controls, envelopes, and filters located on the bottom of the GUI. In the top left, you'll see an effects tab, and on the top right, you'll find Random and the Preset browser. This is one of the most simple and clear interfaces I've seen other than 'Drum Fury'.
The sound quality is exactly what I expected from Sample Logic. Masterfully programmed and production-ready. I was able to locate the sound I wanted quickly with Sample Logic's dynamic meta-tag browsing system.

Inside the preset browser you'll see instrument, source, and a vast list of tag descriptions. Clicking on a tag name will narrow down your search and save you time by giving you the presets that match the tag description. In the effects page, you'll find access to six effects that can be turned off and on by each slider tab. Even though the GUI is very straightforward, there is still a multitude of sound sculpting options that can go quite deep.

Guitar Fury operates in the full version of Kontakt version 5.8.1 or higher. So, if you haven't upgraded to Kontakt 6, don't worry, you'll be able to run the library with no restrictions.

The other part of the library that will give you plenty of quick inspiration is the Random option on the top right. If you click on the three dots, you'll be able to choose to randomize the instrument, source, and effects. You can select each one individually or all of them. Some of the randomization I received delivered fantastic results. I encourage you to experiment with this feature.

How does Guitar Fury Sound?

The guitars are highly imaginative that offers so much more than what I anticipated. There's an immense selection of evolving pads, textures, hybrid, gritty, and melodic beauty. Even though it's called Guitar Fury, the softer ambient guitars are some of my favorites, and the bass guitars are a welcomed surprise. These guitars offer a superb delivery of emotion, perfect for underscoring. However, if you're looking for a metal guitar library, you may want to look elsewhere. There is some rock/industrial style of  presets, but metal guitars are not the intention of this library. It's definitely a cinematic guitar library that can also be used in other types of electronic music productions. Experimental, original, and strikingly organic. I did find myself getting enthralled in the instrument, the more time I spent with it. With all the guitar sample libraries out there, it's great to have a release that delivers an expanse journey into something nontraditional.

Guitar Fury is an instrument that doesn't try to duplicate whats been done. It's a creative tool that should find a lot of mileage in today's modern film compositions.

If you don't own Drum Fury, I recommend buying  the bundle at a discounted rate.

With so much abundant content, and countless ways to cultivate your sound, Sample Logic completes another chapter in there cinematic guitar legacy of products, and it's absolutely terrific!

5 out of 5 Stars !
